Nanga Parbat in the Pakistani Himalaya is the 9th highest peak in the World (8,126 m/26,660 ft). Fairy Meadows (3,300 m/ 10,800 ft) offer stunning views to the mountain and hike up to one of its basecamps. Fairy Meadows is reachable via 1.5 hours Jeep ride (along a road considered one of the most dangerous in the World) and 2-3 hours hike. From Fairy Meadows the trek to the basecamp and back is around 8 hours, reaching 4,000 meters altitude.

Lahore is the second largest city in Pakistan, famous for its historic and cultural heritage and important historic cites. Lahore reached its golden age during the Mughal Empire, when it was for a while capital and cultural center of the Empire. Lahore Fort and Shalimar Gardens are UNESCO World Heritage Sites as an outstanding examples of the Mughal art and architecture during the 16th and 17th centuries. Other important historic monuments in Lahore are the Badshahi and Wazir Khan mosques and the tomb of the Mughal emperor Jahangir.

Skardu and Shigar are towns in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, famous with old forts and the natural beauty of the area. Skardu Fort (or Kharphocho) dates from the 8th century, rebuilt in 16th century. The fort offers stunning views over Indus River and Skardu. The Shigar Fort, built in the 17th century shows the Tibetan influence in the architecture (Gilgit-Baltistan has many similarities with Tibet).

Hunza is a district in the northern part of Gilgit-Baltistan, famous for its extraordinary natural beauty. Hunza was a princely state until 1974. "Gilgit-Baltistan is administered by Pakistan and subject of a dispute between India and Pakistan since 1947" (Wikipedia). Hunza Valley is located centrally in Hunza, enclosed by the snowy peaks of the Karakoram mountain. The ancient Altit and Baltit forts in Hunza Valley, nearby Hunza's capital Karimabad (Baltit), have significant Tibetan architectural influence. The highest peak of the Karakoram mountains - Rakaposhi 7,788 m/ 25,551 ft is visible from Hunza Valley, it is notable for rising 5,900 m/ 19,357 ft in only about 11 km/ 7 mi from the Hunza River. The scenic Karakoram Highway is the main road crossing Hunza (continuing into China).

Babusar Pass or Babusar Top (4,173 m/13,691 ft) is a high mountain pass in Pakistan, offering scenic views all along the road, crossing the pass.

The University of Taxila (in present-day Punjab, Pakistan) was established as a center of education in religious and secular topics, from the 6th century BCE to the 5th century CE. It started as a Vedic seat of learning and later became a center of Buddhist scholarship. UNESCO declared both Nalanda and Taxila World Heritage Sites, because of their archaeological importance and historical significance to the field of education.
