Stonehenge is the most architecturally sophisticated prehistoric stone circle monument in the world and one of the world's greatest enigmas; it is located nearby Salisbury, in Wiltshire, England. Stonehenge was probably constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC and was presumably a religious and burial site, and also used for observing the Sun and the Moon.
Stonehenge was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986.
