The White Pocket is little visited, people need high clearance 4×4 vehicle to drive more than two hours to get there.

The Saguaro National Park, nearby the city of Tucson, Arizona, protects part of the Sonoran Desert landscapes, fauna and flora, including the giant saguaro cactus. The giant saguaro is a symbol of the American west, it may live as long as 200 years and may grow up to 60 feet (18 m). The giant saguaro grows extremely slow, its first arm appears when it is between 50 and 100 years old.

Coyote Buttes South is famous for some of the most visually striking and unique sandstone geological formations in the American Southwest. It is a section of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness in Northern Arizona. To preserve the area, hiking in Coyote Buttes is limited through a hiking permit system.
